Keelback snakes are non-venomous and grow to 75 cm. The name comes from the snakes' scales which are keeled, displaying a horizontal ridge along each scale. These snakes are found all along the northern coast of Australia and partway down the eastern coast. Keelback snakes feed primarily on frogs.

Pale-headed snakes are found in Australia in Queensland and New South Wales. These snakes are named for their lightly patterned heads compared to their dark grey to black bodies. Pale-headed snakes are nocturnal and venomous.
Black-headed pythons are large non-venomous snakes found across Northern Australia. They grow to three meters in length and have a distinct black head and neck with a patterned body. Black-headed pythons sustain themselves on lizards and snakes but are also known to eat birds and mammals.
The Elegant sea snake is common in tropical Australia, however it is exciting to see sea snakes because they spend all their lives in the water and are nocturnal. These snakes are very venomous. Because sea snakes eat fish, they rely on venom to stop prey from swimming away.
Carpet pythons are common in Australia and can grow to three and a half meters long. Carpet pythons are nocturnal, exploring and eating at night and sleeping in trees during the day.
Adult Spotted pythons reach about a meter in length. These pythons are pretty common in North Australia and are often kept as pets.
