The next day, Eric and I walked to a near by restaurant for lunch, Uncle Boy's. Eric had a Jalapeno and Green Chili Burger with Jalapeno Poppers and I had a Garden Burger with Breaded zucchini; delicious! After lunch, we wrapped up some final calls, paperwork, etc. in preparation for leaving the country and, of course, called our good friend Katie on her Birthday :)
That evening, we all hung out at the apartment, enjoying some home cooking and the view of the city from the front window.

On Saturday, Dan had off work, so he took Eric and I around the city for some must see San Francisco sights. Our first stop, Lombard Street! We took a bus to get there, and then hiked up before climbing back down.
"We're there!"
After walking down Lombard, we walked towards the bay to get a view of Alcatraz and the city.
Dan pointed out all the sights.
Next, we wandered down to Fisherman's Warf to see all the goings on. There were lots of little shops, busy streets, restaurants, and of course, the bay. We spent most of our time looking for sea lions, crabs, and yes, interesting birds.
Next, we walked a short way to ride a cable car from the warf into the city. We picked up a car at the end of the line, so we got to see the car being pushed onto the turn table and turned around - pretty cool!
It started raining a little, but I still got to hang on, riding on the outside of the car! (Like the guys in this picture at the top of Lombard Street)
Riding the Cable Car was a lot of fun. It was a little sketchy with the breaks in all the wet weather (not to mention San Francisco hills) but luckily, the Cable Car operators can control the traffic lights on their route, so they always have the right of way.
We got off near Union Square and marveled at the massive buildings. We spent some time exploring Market Street, walked through huge stores to stay out of the rain, hung out in a cute cafe, and then took the Bart to Ingrid's art show.
The art show was busy with lots of people and some really amazing pieces. The show was set up in a gallery with many artists' studios on the same floor, so not only were we able to see the art on display for the show, but also art from the artists who call the space their own. Ingrid's painting was practically the first piece you saw when walking off the elevator and into the gallery space; among so much great work, her's really stood out. :)
After the show, we walked to a nearby restaurant, The Flying Pig, for some amazing food before heading back to the apartment for the evening.
The next day, Eric and I packed up, had a wonderful lunch with Dan, and then headed to the airport.

Dan and Ingrid, thank you so much for your hospitality! It was so great getting to visit with you guys and to see San Francisco!
