Water Pythons prefer habitat near freshwater and ambush prey in the area; feeding on mammals, birds, and sometimes reptiles. Water Pythons are common in aboriginal myths, referred to as rainbow serpents (due to the pythons' scales' colorful reflections) and were said to have carved the earth's landscape.

The Centralian knob-tailed gecko is found in central Australia in rocky habitat. They are active at night and eat primarily insects, spiders and scorpions. This gecko is named for it's short and round-ended tail.
The Green Sea Turtle is listed as a vulnerable species by the Australian Government. They are found near inshore sea grass beds and along coral reef systems and they feed on sea grass and algae. Adult Green Sea Turtles' shells measure about one meter across.
Long-nose Dragons are found in central and western Australia. They have an elongated snout but also have very long tails.
The Central Bearded Dragon is found in a stretch of arid land through central Australia. Bearded dragons get their name from the spikes around the underside of their head (and along their sides) which can protrude in an attempt to ward off possible predators (though these spikes are more rubbery than sharp). The Central Bearded Dragon feeds off of insects, fruits, and leaves. Bearded dragons are commonly kept as pets.
Box patterned geckos are nocturnal and live on trees. They eat insects and spiders and on average grow to 4.5 cm in length. Box patterned geckos are found in dry areas of Eastern Australia.
Eastern Bearded Dragons are found in eastern Australia and reach an average total length (including tail) of 50 cm (19.5 inches). Their diet consists of mainly insects as well as fruits, berries and plants. Eastern Bearded dragons rely on their camouflage as protection from predators but will puff up their beards if threatened to appear bigger. Bearded Dragons are popular pets because of their mild tempered nature.
Northern velvet geckos are found in north east Queensland. Velvet geckos have a variety of patterns (as seen below), eat insects, and are sometimes kept as pets.
Nobbi dragons can be found out basking in Eastern Australia. Insects are their main diet and adults (pictured here) grow to about 8 cm (not including their tail). Nobbi dragons are not very skittish and are sometimes kept as pets.
