Beaded geckos are found in central southern Australia and are nocturnal. They feed on insects and grow to about 5 cm in length.
The Centralian knob-tailed gecko is found in central Australia in rocky habitat. They are active at night and eat primarily insects, spiders and scorpions. This gecko is named for it's short and round-ended tail.
Long-nose Dragons are found in central and western Australia. They have an elongated snout but also have very long tails.
The Central Bearded Dragon is found in a stretch of arid land through central Australia. Bearded dragons get their name from the spikes around the underside of their head (and along their sides) which can protrude in an attempt to ward off possible predators (though these spikes are more rubbery than sharp). The Central Bearded Dragon feeds off of insects, fruits, and leaves. Bearded dragons are commonly kept as pets.
Box patterned geckos are nocturnal and live on trees. They eat insects and spiders and on average grow to 4.5 cm in length. Box patterned geckos are found in dry areas of Eastern Australia.
Ragged snake-eyed skinks live on trees. They have a slender body with a long tail and usually reach 3.5 cm in length excluding the tail. Ragged snake-eyed skinks have well developed legs and toes used for climbing. They are called snake-eyed because they have transparent eye lids over their eyes, much like snakes.
Yellow-spotted monitors are found throughout the area and across Northern Australia. Monitor lizards are more commonly called Goannas in Australia. (It is thought that they were named 'monitors' because of how they stand on hind legs, appearing to monitor the area.) Adult Yellow-spotted monitors reach about 140 cm in length.
Burton's legless lizards are found all throughout Australia. Although at first glance they appear to be snakes, Burton's legless lizards actually are lizards without legs, due to the fact that they are more closely related to geckos. (Burton's legless lizards hold characteristics of lizards such as ear holes and eye lids which snakes lack.) Burton's legless lizards feed on other lizards.
