Harry Potter: Books 1-7
by: J.K. Rowling
The popular book series is great for a re-read every couple of years. I also highly recommend the audio books. For the few who have not already read these wonderful books, (ahem, Mom) I urge you to look past the fantasy label and truly give them a chance. I do not normally read fantasy or science fiction, so picking up a book of this sort, reading it through, and loving every page is extremely unlikely; in fact, I believe Harry Potter is the only exception to the rule in my case.
The first book starts out with the tragic death of an infant boy's parents. He is reluctantly taken in by his aunt and uncle and lives a peculiar life in the shadow of his only cousin. On his twelfth birthday, the boy, Harry, learns he is a wizard and has been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Much to his aunt and uncle's dismay, Harry attends the school, where the real adventure begins. The seven books follow the seven years of schooling at Hogwarts. The characters and events are brought to life through Rowling's exceptional writing. The books will have you reading non-stop, and when you do come up for air, you will be itching for the next moment when you can dive back into the world Rowling has built. Unforgettable with something for everyone.
Published June 1997 - July 2007, 4,175 pages total, re-read electronically.
